Superb food! My friend and I dine here every few months and the quality of the food does not disappoint. I get different bowls with different toppings but usually include cauliflower, hummus, and their spicy sauces. The content of their bowls is always SO SO good, and they are neatly dressed so when it's served to you in a plate on a tray, you can't help but smile. The spice fries are also AMAZING. Super crispy, seasoned well, not oily, and taste amazing with their signature Shouk sauce. The cardamom cookie is worth every penny and worth eating every last crumb. It is scrumptious, soft, fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Just the right away to end the meal! Room temperature water is available from a giant vessel. All ordering is done on a kiosk so no employee interaction except to pick up your food. Their wood fork breaks easily but a minor inconvenience. I recently left an umbrella behind here and they were able to locate it and hold on to it until I picked it up. Super kind of them!

I went here for lunch and am pleasantly surprised how big the portion is for the bowl. It's really healthy but I wish the veggies were seasoned more. My favorite part are the beets. They are very yummy. I think I thought it was more of a Cava type place but it is very delicious. I got the shawarma and it's pretty yummy.

I love this place! We were craving something healthy & quick and were so happy when we discovered Shouk! We didn't know it was a vegetarian/vegan place but everything we had was so amazing, we will absolutely be back. We ordered a pita (which comes in very convenient and travel-friendly packaging), a make-your-own bowl and the fries. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned (the secret Shouk spice is so good) and the entrees were just a flavorful. We loved all of the sauces as well. They have a small sitting area but it seemed like they had a lot of to-go and Uber Eat orders. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved Shouk. The falafel was the best I have had. Also had the potatoes and they were so good. All the sauces we tried were also amazing. Fresh, real food with good flavors and fast service. Friendly staff as well.

Nice place to grab a fast-casual healthy lunch just around the corner from the convention center! If you're looking for healthier and tasty options conveniently located that won't completely break the bank, this is a great choice. It's a small interior with an open kitchen. You order at one of two electronic consoles then just wait for your name to be called. (Look for the one in the back! You can also order online and just swing by to pick up; no real advantage to ordering in person.) I tried two different preset bowls the two times I went. The babaganoush was my fave part--I made sure to get that in my bowl both times! I wasn't a huge fan of the smashed potatoes (it was just...a small baked potato), or the cardamom chocolate chip cookie. The bowls are the perfect lunch size; they seemed light at first but I didn't find myself snacking later in the afternoon either time. It's a little loud inside with a small amount of mostly communal table seating (which require stairs to get to). There are also a fair number of small tables outside, many of them under the shade of the trees.

Shouk is a great spot for a quick lunch or meal on the go. Their falafel with tahini sauce is delicious, and they gave a great range of customizable bowls and pitas (the mushroom shawarma especially!). I should note that the menu is all plant-based, and their protein options are great. I love the variety, and it feels fresher than a lot of fast food places. Prices are pretty standard for DC fast casual spots ($12-15 mains, $4-6 sides). The K Street location has a second level with a couple of tables, but it's definitely more of a 'grab and go' spot. Service is fast and I've found staff friendly and helpful!

This was such a cool find when I was visiting DC this past weekend! I was craving something healthy and wholesome, and definitely needed a break from easy-to-reach Starbucks food, so I was glad I was able to make time for Shouk. The restaurant was a bit difficult to get into, only because the exterior did not help with suggesting a restaurant was inside it! It was a gorgeous building though... Once I made my way in, I realized I had to order at one of the screens. The staff were not that friendly, in that they didn't greet customers as they entered...they were doing their own thing, getting food out, it was what it was. I ended up getting the Shawarma Bowl, which came with oyster mushrooms seared on a hot grill, roasted sweet potato, almond feta, pickled red cabbage, cucumber, hummus, black lentils, rice, greens. I also got a choco-cardamom cookie and a sparkling water to round out my meal. Overall, everything was delicious! The almond feta was exquisite and of course, you can never have too much hummus. The choco-cardamom cookie had an intriguing flavor and you could definitely taste the cardamom coming through. If I lived in DC, Shouk would definitely be one of my staples!

Shouk hit the spot with solid middle eastern vegetarian food at about $15 per meal! The falafel bowl was great, I love that they fry up the falafel balls when serving the bowl, instead of adding from a precooked pile. And the pita that came with the dish was soft and fluffy, really good stuff. My only wish is that the bowl had more solid ingredients (especially greens) and less of the baba ganoush, for a little more balance. But still a great pit stop for quick, filling vegetarian food!

I was shhhhouk'n--you know shook, but shhouk! In the most pleasant way. Let me explain. I was in town and I found myself at Shouk. An Israeli vegan restaurant, where everything is kosher and halal. They are located near the heartbeat of the city. I ordered the mushroom Shawarma on the touchscreen kiosk on the brick wall. The Shawarma had oyster mushrooms, pickled green cabbage, cucumber, onion, arugula, and tahina. It was all inside a pita bread. My first bite was magical. The pita bread was ever so soft; inside the pocket the textures and flavors were incredible. An assault on all five senses just as they claim! The onions and arugula were there in moments. I couldn't tell if it was the oyster mushrooms or the tahina that had a smidge more salt than I would like. Nevertheless, the oyster mushrooms had a nice texture and were wickedly delightful. I was Shouk!! Next time, I have my eyes on the Za'atar Cauliflower, the Shouk Sausage, Falafel, and the Lentil soup. The food here is everyone-friendly. Restrooms were clean and the restaurant was tidy. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The food is ordered on a touchscreen. The staff was friendly! "Food is medicine. Food is memories." Fun fact: "Shouk is the Hebrew word for market."

Glad that Shouk has expanded their menu by adding falafel and mushroom dishes. While I'm not a big fan of the overcooked, burnt burgers, I really enjoy the Fancy Falafel! The Fancy Falafel is truly fancy with 3 crispy falafel balls, almond feta, cucumber, roasted red pepper, pickled red onion, tahina, mint perfectly stuffed inside a fluffy soft pita. All the ingredients blend well together with an explosion of flavor and best of all, nothing fell out! My favorite dish! The Fried Shouk'n with crispy oyster mushrooms stuffed in a pita with pickles and mayo (I swapped out the spicy harissa mayo for the regular mayo) was fun to try. I enjoyed the flavorful Shawarma with grilled oyster mushrooms coated in spices and cabbage, cucumber & onion, arugula, and creamy tahina stuffed inside a pita. The Crab Cake burger is simple with a soft mushy veggie patty with a crispy shell and mayo and pickles on a potato bun. It's nice to be able to taste the veggies in the patty and not have a burger overloaded with toppings. It's lighter than most veggie burgers and fun to try. Excited to come back for the Fancy Falafel!
